RIFLEMAN KRISHN KUMAR SINGH
was leading the scout of the special patrol party. This patrol scout was
assigned the task of attacking the hiding place of the Nagaland National
Socialist Council in the general area of Chahong Rakhuna
. On 16 August 1993 when he was attacking the hidden opponents. RIFLEMAN KRISHN KUMAR SINGH was hit by the bullets of the
opponents in the stomach, yet RIFLEMAN KRISHN KUMAR SINGH
kept firing with his weapon while moving towards the target. When he was
unable to walk, he fell to the ground and continued crawling towards the
underground gunfight that was taking place at the opponents; he was hit by
another bullet which paralyzed him. They fired strongly at the rebels and
they threw grenades at the rebels, later RIFLEMAN KRISHN KUMAR SINGH succumbed to bullet wounds.
By this action of RIFLEMAN KRISHN KUMAR SINGH, an
underground rebel was caught and five arms and a huge quantity of
ammunition and explosive material were recovered. Thus RIFLEMAN KRISHN KUMAR SINGH displayed outstanding courage
and determination in the fight against the rebels and made the supreme
sacrifice of his life.
